Time doesn't matter much in here aside from affecting villager routine, some seasonal events, quests, and store open times, other than that, it doesn't affect you one bit. There's also farming later in the game (I haven't touched it yet). The game's pretty much like animal crossing, you plant flowers, grow trees, cut three, go fishing, catch bugs, and go mining. I don't like much animal crossing timegating stuff since my sleep patterns are always messy, so this game is nice for me to enjoy the similar experience without much stress. To add to this wonderful comment, to unlock the train station to get into the city you must complete ALL tutorial quests.Don't know why there's all the hate towards this game, it's probably the most chill game I've played so far.

There you can access your own shop, where you can upload up to 8 different items you created yourself to share with the community (you can switch them out whenever you like). Then there is a department store next door. There is a shop where you can upload your own entres for a current creator challenge and also download a copy of the 5 best items from the previous challenge.
